Better With Kinect

We all know (and hate) that little, purple strip at the top of an Xbox game that says "Better With Kinect". We also know that it is almost always terribly inaccurate. It always means that the developers tacked on some form of voice commands or something else useless.

But with the Xbox One, the Kinect can actually make games better! Here are some scenarios and ideas:

1. With the Kinect 2.0's ability to read facial expressions, flawless motion tracking, and heartrate reader, it could sense when the player is getting scared in a horror game (high heart rate, leaning forward, serious facial expression) and have something jump out at them right there and then. Tell me that isn't genius.

2. It could allow for achievements based on how mad a kid gets at a game.

3. It could sense when a player gets serious and amp up the intensity in the game (more enemies, louder, more dramatic music, etc).

4. A game could help the player simply by the player saying "What's the button to...",  "How do I...", "I'm stuck.", "I need a hint", or maybe even "What's my objective?"

5. The Kinect could allow you to talk to characters in the game by saying their name, then a command. Examples: "Jack, give me some ammo." "Cole, follow me" "EVERYBODY ATTACK!!!"

6. The Kinect could add more in-game abilities than you have buttons for by simply making motions. Examples: Point to make your character point, swing your arm to make your character melee, punch to make your character punch, nod/shake your head to make your character say yes/no, a throwing motion to make your character throw a grenade, or a steering motion to steer a car while driving

Those are just a few ideas I've come up with. Now, having read that, try to imagine some uses of your own. the possibilities are endless.

Watch this video if you're not convinced that the Kinect 2.0 is actually capable of any of those uses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi5kMNfgDS4

The Bottom Line

This is the bottom line for why the Xbox One is simply the more worth-while purchase:

The PS4 is a plastic box that can play multiplayer and single player games along with a few other features and apps.

The Xbox One is a plastic box that can play more games with faster multiplayer along with a longer list of side features and apps.

There are many more ways the Xbox One beats the PS4 and if you want to see them, look at my earlier posts. But if you've made up your mind and you're getting a PS4 just know what you're missing.

Why?

What reason would you have to get a PS4?

1. It doesn't beat the Xbox One in graphics or speed.

2. It doesn't have as many exclusives as the Xbox One.

3. It won't have as many exclusive games or apps as the Xbox One (due to the fact that the Xbox One has more partnerships than the PS4)

4. It's multiplayer doesn't even compare to that of the Xbox One. (Xbox Live has 300,000 servers)

5. It doesn't have as many multimedia options as the Xbox One.

6. It can't multitask nearly as much as the Xbox One.

7. It doesn't have Kinect. (PS4 just has a Wii nock-off called: PS Move.)

8. It doesn't offer Live TV.

9. It doesn't offer Skype.

10. Both consoles fully support indie games.

11. It doesn't support external hard drives (the Xbox One will)

There is literally no area where the PlayStation 4 beats the Xbox One. But the Xbox One beats the PS4 is lots of ways such as:

Better multitask, better A.I. capability, Better cloud functionality, twice the amount of connected controllers at once (Xbox One allows 8 where PS4 only allows 4), better multiplayer (300,000 servers), better achievement system, better controller triggers, better controller vibration, more AAA exclusives, slightly better GPU, more partnerships (more exclusive games and apps), Kinect, supports external hard drives, etc.

Would you rather have THAT or touchpads and lightbars?

Get this blog famous!

No, This isn't because I want to make money with this blog (Actually, I'm not making any money with this blog), it's because the more people see the reasoning behind Xbox One fans, the more people will realize that they've been rooting for the wrong team and the more people will switch!

PS4 Arguments part 2

A lot of people still side with PS4 even after I make my arguments. They come up with more arguments. This is PS4 arguments part 2.

1. PS4 has better CPU.

Actually, both consoles are equal as far as that goes. Both consoles have an AMD 8-core Jaguar CPU.

2. PS4 has indie games.

Xbox One also has indie games. They just didn't talk much about them at the conference because Xbox has always had indie games and they where nothing new for Microsoft.

3. PS Plus allows for 2,000 friends.

Who needs more than 500? The Xbox Oen offers 1,000 friends. That's enough to satisfy me.

4. PS4 has better exclusives.

The only PS4 exclusives worth even mentioning are Killzone: Shadowfall and... wait... Oh, right, all the other beloved PlayStation exclusive franchises haven't announced ANYTHING for PS4. (Uncharted, The Last of Us, Little Big Planet). And The new Killzone looks like every other FPS ever made. The only new thing is the ability to make your own gamemodes (As you already can in Halo except Halo has more guns and you can make your own maps).

5. Sony cares more about their fans.

Actually, Sony is what is called a "company". Companies are in the business to make money. Sony didn't make the PS4 cheaper because they "care" more. It was a smart business call. The cheaper the product, the more customers they will get.

6. Most of the world wants a PS4.

That is slowly changing.
